Great things take time. A year from when I was invited to Stanford to be trained by Steve Blank, we finally made it! This week, I started to teach the Lean Launchpad curriculum at the University of Cologne, more specifically at the recently launched university incubator named “Gateway” – the perfect place for it.

Keynoting HackTM in Timisoara, Romania
Recently I had the honor and pleasure to be invited to hold the inspirational keynote at what is probably the largest hackathon in Eastern Europe, HackTM, in Timisoara, Romania.
Startup Weekend Mafia Representing in Kuala Lumpur
So I’m currently in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and I haven’t been here for more than hours before I see this guy in a Startup Weekend t-shirt sitting at the next table across from me. And of course I just have to go over there and ask him about it and introduce myself. Turns out it’s Ahmed Khanji, Startup Weekend Sudan organizer! Felt like we have known each other for years! It’s a small world and the Startup Weekend Mafia is everywhere! This is why I love volunteering for UP Global / Startup Weekend! <3
On Digital Marketing
I found this presentation from 2011 in my digital drawers and thought I’d share it with you as it seems to be still relevant – even after these years.
It was originally commissioned by a customer, an agency, who wanted a primer on data driven digital marketing. I have redacted the customer-specific details but without removing much of the content, if at all.
Perhaps you’ll find something useful in it. Either for your agency, your customers or your corporation. Let me know what you think.
Do you want to book me too? Shoot me an email at [email protected] and let’s talk.
Speaking at #UXCGN
I was recently honored and delighted to be invited as a speaker at #UXCGN, the regular UX meetup in Cologne. It’s a little know fact that I started out in this tech business doing UX before it was even called UX, but HCI (also known under the more derogatory term, Web Designer in the 90s) and I’m still a product guy at heart.
I thought the brilliant Cindy Alvarez‘ presentation about how to do UX the lean way could use some more love in the German speaking world, so I decided to just blatantly steal and recycle it. I know I learned so many actionable things from it that helped me when I was building my last startup.
